1st Pannal Scouts had two teams entered in the district Monopoly event over the Easter break, where teams have to visit various Scout huts and other venues around the Harrogate area to gain points.
The activity was supported by Transdev who provided free transport for the day to all of the 112 Scouts in 25 teams. The Scouts travelled all over the area from central Harrogate out to Pannal, Ripley and Knaresborough.
All of the trips the Scouts made were recorded and there were 467 individual journeys, an average of 18 per team. Since there were 21 bases and most teams visited about half, we came to the conclusion that teams were taking some very indirect routes!
The 1st Pannal ‘Senior’ team racked up an impressive 42 points, staying 7 clear of the next nearest team. They’ll be training up the other Scouts that will follow next year as part of their Team Leader Challenge Award!
